The Heritage Preaching Lectures is an event that seeks to equip and encourage pastors and other ministry leaders with the tools needed to sharpen their skills to serve their churches and congregations.
This year, Heritage Theological Seminary is thrilled to welcome Dr. Jonathan Griffiths on Thursday, October 20, 2022. The theme of his lectures for this full-day event will be From the Heart of the Text to the Heart of the Hearer.
Heritage is excited to announce that this year’s Heritage Preaching Lectures will be hosted both in-person and online. We are looking forward to the opportunity to welcome pastors to Heritage for a day of encouragement and equipping, as well as inviting people to join the event online from the places God has placed them to serve Him.

11:00 am – 12:00 pm: Plenary Session One—What is Preaching?
12:00 pm – 1:30 pm: Lunch Off-Site

1:30 pm – 2:35 pm: Plenary Session Two—Preaching the Heart of the Text
2:35 pm – 2:50 pm: Break
2:50 pm – 3:55 pm: Plenary Session Three—Preaching to the Heart of the Hearer
3:55 pm – 4:00 pm: Benediction & Dismissal
About Jonathan Griffiths
Jonathan Griffiths serves as the Lead Pastor of the Metropolitan Bible Church in Ottawa, Ontario. Previously, he served on the staff of the Proclamation Trust in London, England. Griffiths studied theology at the University of Oxford and holds a PhD in New Testament studied from the University of Cambridge. He is also the author of several books including Preaching in the New Testament in the New Studies in Biblical Theology series. Alongside serving on the council of The Gospel Coalition Canada, he is deeply committed to expository preaching and loves to train and mentor others in Word ministry. He and his wife Gemma, have three children.
