Chapel times at Heritage are a chance to refocus and draw close to God. Students are challenged to grow continually in their personal walk with God. They are encouraged to think about the world around them and how they can impact it. Students are given the opportunity to consider the learning and discussions of the classroom to their life and faith. Chapel is one of the unique features of a Christian campus and is a vital part of student life at Heritage.
Two times each week the community gathers for worship. These times of worship may involve guest speakers, worship bands, sharing times, musical offerings, and prayer. Students and faculty are involved in the planning and presentation of chapels as we set our focus on the Lord and what He is doing in and through the Heritage Community.
Local Church Commitment
Students are expected to be faithful in regular church attendance. They are also strongly encouraged to develop healthy relationships with the local churches in which they fulfill their general ministry placement requirements.
In addition to Field Education, there are frequent opportunities to serve Christ through student groups and off-campus ministry organizations. Student-led times of worship or prayer are held occasionally during evening hours.
There are numerous opportunities to participate in prayer groups, which form during the course of the year according to student interest and need. There is also a prayer room located in the Heritage Comminity Centre where students can write praise and prayer items on the chalk wall, and spend time with the Lord in prayer.
Each residence student is enrolled in a small group and off-campus students are encouraged to participate in a small group for spiritual growth and mutual support. Special interest groups for Missions and other ministry opportunities often are developed throughout the school year.
