A Transformative Year
My one year at Heritage has been an amazing year of spiritual growth and heart transformation. Through the theological teachings and strongly bonded community, the past eight months have stretched me out of my comfort zone, equipped me to stand firm in my faith, and taught me what it means to truly be a follower of Jesus.
Since becoming a student at Bible College, I’ve felt pressure to show that I’ve grown in my knowledge of the Bible. Almost like people expect me to know everything there is to know about God and His Word. But, through the community at Heritage, I have come to realize that being a follower of Christ doesn’t mean showing off what I know about Him. It’s about how I live out what I know and use my knowledge of the Lord to bring glory to Him in everything I think, say, and do.
This year at Heritage has given me a longing to grow closer to my Saviour, a deep love for the Lord, and a burden for those around me that need Jesus. As I head to Conestoga College in the fall for Office Administration, it’s my prayer that, above all else, Christ will shine through me and use me for His purposes as I continually seek to be transformed more into His image. I hope to impact my new school for Jesus so that others may find hope and experience the grace, mercy, and love of God in a powerful way.
